![]() ![]() Ironically, you could always murder people in the movies, but the code dictated that justice must be served in the end. Generations of viewers grew up with this rigid structure completely assimilated it in our minds, and it still influences our expectations today. ![]() The code structure was so rigid that you could just see it in every movie you just knew the limits of what they could get away with. Realistically, back in the old prudish days of the mid 20th century in America (I don't know about other countries), there was the Motion Picture Production Code that completely and precisely defined and restricted every aspect of movie content (and something similar for TV, under the FCC). Why do we make a big deal about virtual nudity?īecause its much more shocking than virtual murder.
